Kuala Lumpur: The Ministry of Youth and Sporting activities (KBS) intends to recognise eSports and lion dance as formal sporting activities in the Sports Growth Act 1997 (Act 576).Its Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker mentioned for that purpose, his ministry would propose an amendment to Act 576 so that eSports and lion dance could be greater governed.
In accordance to him, the two sports activities are not described as a activity group, even though it mainly belongs to leisure sporting activities, especially lion dance which has its possess self-control, art and education.

“The approval of this modification will be sought by the Sports Commissioner (PJS) and we have amended this Sports Act 2 times prior to, the place we have involved numerous sports during the amendments in 2000 and 2004.
