Alignments for soccer, basketball and different sports activities
For the primary time because the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vermont Principals’ Affiliation has set forth new divisional alignments for its core sports activities: Soccer, basketball, baseball and softball.
The brand new-look divisions, primarily based on enrollment measurement of lady and boys counts, are for a two-year cycle beginning with the 2022-23 faculty 12 months. Whereas most colleges stay in the identical division, there have been a number of notable exceptions. They embrace:
► North Nation and Spaulding soccer groups drop from Division I to D-II.
► Stowe boys soccer returns to D-III, the place it received seventh straight titles from 2012-18.
► Winooski soccer groups drops from D-III to D-IV and Enosburg ladies soccer strikes from D-II to D-III.
► Burr and Burton ladies go as much as D-I in basketball and softball.

► Spaulding baseball, which received its first title in 32 years, jumps from D-II to D-I.
