La Liga President Javier Tebas defends Spanish Supercup being held in Saudi Arabia
One matter has dominated the headlines in Spain today, immediately after El Confidencial released a report and audio clips which verified that Gerard Pique had been associated in negotiations to choose the Spanish Supercup to Saudi Arabia.
The voice notes, among Barcelona player Pique and President of the Spanish Soccer Federation Luis Rubiales, also involved discussions in excess of the financial benefits for each individual club.
Just after attending an occasion these days in Barcelona, Mundo Deportivo asked for Javier Tebas’ views on the matter, as President of La Liga.
“I haven’t read the audios yet. It’s a issue in which right up until all those implicated give their impression, I’m not heading to say nearly anything about.”
Tebas has a lengthy-operating feud with Rubiales, with the two usually clashing on many difficulties, like scheduling. Tebas seemed reluctant to condemn the information having said that, stating he would have to study and hear to the report later on. He did admit to recognizing that Valencia ended up not happy with the situation.
“Yes, it is correct that Valencia ended up quite sad with the division of money and it could be coherent with the headlines I have browse. Yes, I am not in agreement with what the golf equipment are earning that aren’t Barcelona and Serious Madrid.”
“The division of income in the Supercup was in no way clear and it was not explained properly.”
Most likely the reason for his fairly sympathetic view was most clearly noticeable toward the end of the job interview. La Liga had at 1 stage wanted to play a Girona-Barcelona fixture in Miami, but ended up under no circumstances equipped to do so for the reason that the move was blocked by the RFEF.
“I said that it appeared ideal to me that the Supercup is held in Saudi Arabia. We desired to choose a La Liga match to the United States and they didn’t enable us. Most likely the ideal was a various region. [Rubiales] does not have any opposition from me about getting the event exterior of Spain. Improved put, I agree with it.”
