Here We Go: Seven Serie A transfer targets to watch, including Gianluca Scamacca and Aaron Hickey

Serie A is a league that has always known how to produce talents, with Dušan Vlahović’s rapid rise as a top striker as one of the latest examples. You can catch him in action all season on Paramount+. As always, the transfer market never takes a break, and here at CBS Sports we want to take you behind the scenes on some of the most interesting targets heading into the summer, as mid-table clubs — and even some lower — see breakout seasons from some of their younger talent. Top clubs in Serie A will always be a destination for some of these players, but teams from the Premier League, La Liga or Bundesliga have always managed to be on the radar. Keep an eye on these seven players in particular.

Gianluca Scamacca (Sassuolo): Inter Milan have expressed strong interest as they consider him the perfect player to rebuild their attack for years to come. The 23-year-old has a knack for finding the back of the net — 10 goals scored already this season — and has also shown leadership at such a young age, which is why the race is still open despite Inter being the frontrunner at the moment.

Beto (Udinese): The 24-year-old Brazilian reached eight goals in Serie A in his first season in Italy, arriving by surprise in the summer from Portugal’s Portimonense. He’s a fast center forward and his physicality is second to none. Udinese could think of a direct channel with Watford — the Pozzo family own both clubs — but you will not miss them. Keep an eye on him because this guy has special skills and great humility.

Gleison Bremer (Torino): In the top three of the best defenders in Serie A this year, Bremer is in the midst of an excellent season. The 24-year-old Brazilian was the only center back able to destroy Vlahović this season. Extraordinary performances which has sparked plenty of rumors about a move to Bayern Munich in June. Inter want him as a priority for their defense, but AC Milan also have his name on the list as a secondary option if their attempts to sign Lille’s Sven Botman don’t materialize.

Nedim Bajrami (Empoli): The Swiss-born Albania international scored six goals for what some would call a “small” team, but don’t let that fool you. Bajrami is a high-end talent and a ton of skills who plays as a creative midfielder. He is a classic number 10 who has already caught the attention of Lazio and Napoli in Italy and has clubs in the Bundesliga closely monitoring his work.

Aaron Hickey (Bologna): Impressive performances out of this full back from the class of 2002, capable of kicking with right and left foot at the same level. Not only does the 19-year-old talent already have four goals to his name, he is also capable of providing assists and is always in Bologna boss Siniša Mihajlović’s  starting XI. Aston Villa wanted this prized talent in January, but Bologna refused. Come summertime, Premier League clubs will return for Hickey.

Davide Frattesi (Sassuolo): The 22-year-old midfielder has what it takes to follow the footsteps of Nicolò Barella. He is capable of combining intensity and quality. He has scored four goals and is a box-to-box midfielder that Inter Milan and Juventus want for June. Inter are leading the race given their good relations with Sassuolo, but this guy has enormous talent who could have a ton of clubs lining up for his services.

Wilfried Singo (Torino): Arsenal and Tottenham scouts have monitored the Ivorian right-back on countless occasions as he continues to do great things and show his quality with Torino under manager Ivan Jurić. We will hear about Singo very soon as one of the most interesting players in his role at European level, with three goals and four assists this season in Serie A.
